Hello All,

This weekend while going to and returning from Seattle we saw the following
species of note........

1 Dec.....HWY 14 Skamainia Co.
Eurasian Wigeon........1 ad. male on Drano Lake
Hooded Mergansers...30+ next pond east of Drano Lake

2 Dec.....Auburn, Auburn Adventist Academy airstrip, King Co.

Band-tailed Pigeon....1 bird
Short-eared Owl........1 bird
Hermit Thrush............4 birds

3 Dec........Vantage, public boat launch, Kittitas Co.

Common Loon.........2 birds
Horned Grebe...........36 birds
Pied-billed Grebe.......11 birds
Greater Scaup............1800 birds
Lesser Scaup..............400 birds
Redhead......................48 birds
LONG-TAILED DUCK..1 AD. MALE
American X Eurasian Wigeon Hybrid male..1 bird
Am.Coot......................1100 birds
Bald Eagle.....................3 birds

HWY 243, Grant Co.

Am.White Pelican.........1 ad. 1 mile north of Shawana and north of the
railroad bridge on the Columbia River in Grant Co..

GYRFALCON.............1 large brown morph female at mile post 3. This is
three miles west of Vernita Bridge towards Mattawa. We watched as this very
large falcon departed a road side pole and flew south out across the
Columbia River into Benton Co..

We attended the Audubon Washington 25th Anniversary Event and also saw some
great birds along the way.
