Following a very nice field trip collaboration between BirdNote and
Skagit Audubon at the Hayden Snow Goose Preserve (off of Fir Island
Road) on Saturday morning, Dan Roscoe and myself birded at various
locations around Skagit. The biggest surprise was a female (yellow
phase) Pine Grosbeak just north of the West 90 in some sparse bushes on
the east side of the road where it runs directly against the dyke. It
was calling quite actively.

Only the second time I have seen this species in as many weeks!
