Dear Tweets,
I spent about 2.5 hours this morning (Dec. 6) looking in the fog for the Emperor goose. I finally found it around 11 pm in the partially flooded field on the west side of Hwy 9, about 1.5 miles south of Snohomish. It was hanging with a group of 13 White-fronted geese, 1 cackler, numerous Canadas and some 250 Trumpeter and perhaps 4 or 5 Tundra swans. The fog only began to lift around 10:30 am. A Peregrine and Bald eagle were also in the area. Further to the west on Marsh road, I stopped to check a pond and I estimate between 3 and 5 thousand Dunlin were present, along with a good selection of ducks.
Good birding,
