Michael Hobbs kindly pointed out that I put the incorrect date for the Vashon CBC, the correct date is Sunday, December 31.

Also, the Christmas Bird Count info is now on the Vashon website http://www.vashonaudubon.org/. The CBC checklist can be downloaded as a PDF from the Events page and the wonderful 12.06 Bird Note show on the CBC is linked from the home page.

The Vashon CBC on December 29 still needs help with two great territories. The Kitsap territory had a number of interesting birds including a Ruffed Grouse last year. The Blake Island territory covers the waters between Vashon and Blake Islands and the southern two-thirds of Blake Island. We would need someone with access to a boat or kayak to cover this area. This is a new territory never covered in the count but should get a wide range of water and land birds.
