Birders,
I just learned of an immature male KING EIDER at the Semiahmoo
Resort near Blaine in Whatcom Co. The bird was found yesterday,
Dec. 8, at about 11 AM by Paul Woodcock and Stephen Frank
from Bellingham, and details posted on the WHATCOM BIRDS
group. The bird was seen again this morning by Paul and Nick Page.
The bird was reported to be "just outside the floats" at the Semiahmoo
Marina, which is within Drayton Harbor next to the Semiahmoo
Resort (i.e., inside the harbor, not in Semiahmoo Bay.
With luck, it will stay for a few days so that other birders can find it!
Good luck and good birding,

P.S. Frederick Sears got some very good photos of the bird this
morning, which he sent to the WHATCOM BIRDS group.
No question about the bird's ID.
