Hi Tweets,

Just finished reading the "Annual Report of the ABA Checklist
Committee: 2006" article in the Nov/Dec 2006 issue of Birding
and got confused (again) over statements regarding counta-
bility of currently-treated Code 6 birds.

Does a birder who submits their 2006 lifelist total to ABA
exclude a past "lifer" like a then-countable 1985 observation
of California Condor? Friends have asked me this from time
to time, and I confess to being foggy about the answer.

The Birding article seems to suggest that the committee's
answer to this question is 'Yes', you must exclude it since
the species (C. Condor) is CURRENTLY treated as a Code 6
bird and Code 6 birds "cannot be counted on personal lists
submitted to the ABA List Supplement".

True or false? I believe the answer is True for a similar
reason one can't include Crested Myna, but I'd be interested
to hear others' viewpoints.
