Subject: [Tweeters] King Eider and Emperor Goose--both still there this

All,
I arrived at Semiahmoo at dawn this morning and got a brief view of the King
Eider almost immediately. He was actively feeding and I lost track of him
for a good 40 minutes after that. He then reappeared and hopped out of the
water to rest on the dock for a while, providing excellent viewing.
On the way back down, I briefly looked around in the vicinity of the Samish
East and West 90s hoping for a Gyrfalcon. I had 3 or 4 Rough-legged Hawks,
but no Gyr. I then headed to the field Marsh Road and Hwy. 9--it took a
little searching, but I did find the Emperor Goose at around 11.
Thanks to all who have provided directions and continued updates for these
birds.
