Subject: [Tweeters] Snow Geese near Mayfield Lake

Thursday while working with some farmers northwest of Mayfield Lake I saw a
small flock of approx. 40 Snow Geese fly up off his field and headed over
the ridge. The farmer said there were two flocks with the total about 100
geese. This seems very unusal as I don't remember any large amounts of Snow
Geese spending the winter in Lewis Co. This was a first for this farmer
too. Sounds like they have been there 2 months already. Wonder if they
return every year to these nice green pastures?

These geese hang out on the grass fields above Mayfield Lake and on private
property which can't all be seen from the county road. Just thought I would
let the birders know in case they are in the area to keep their eyes peeled.
