Friday at Point Wilson there were three to four hundred gulls mostly Mew
200. Glaucous-winged and Glaucus and what looked like Glaucous-Winged x
Herring Gull hybrid. A few Double-crested Cormorants,
Harlequin,Bufflehead,Surf Scoter,Western Grebe and Common Loon. At Point
Wilson there was damage to the sound emitter and some flooding with surf to
5 feet and wind 25-30 mph.
Within a radius of 3 miles from where I live on the Quimper Peninsula
yesterdays observations were: Trumpeter Swans 6, Canada Goose 40, American
Wigeon 36, Green-winged Teal 15,Northern Shoveler 4, Gadwall 16, Bofflehead
4, Red-tailed Hawk 1, Wilson's Snipe 2, Red-Breasted Nuthatch 1, Chestnut-
Backed Chickadee 1, Steller's Jay 4, Winter Wren 2, Golden-crowned Kinglets
18, Varied Thrush 1, Darked-eyed Junco 27, SpottedTowhee 3, Mourning Dove 2,
Robin 6 and Northwestern Crow 19.
