Having brought one feeder in the other night to avoid wind damage (the
hanger did blow down) and with commute "adventures" and weather in general leading
to neglect of feeder-stocking this week, it was time to make amends today.
I found that one suet holder needs more serious repair than I had time for,
but did get three seed-caches and two suet holders restocked.

And the reward was surprisingly prompt re-invasion. Even several infrequent
visitors have been darting happily in and out, e.g. Varied Thrush and
Townsends' Warbler. The latter has been chased off suet at least once by Downy
Woodpecker.

The speed of their return leads me to suspect that they have been monitoring
our sub-par recent feeding performance at least as closely as I was watching
them today.
