Friday December 15, 2006:
An ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was seen coming to feeders in the Diver's Lake area of
Nanaimo

Tuesday December 12:
A very wet RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET was seen coming to feeders at Nanoose Bay.
A COMMON REDPOLL was seen at feeders in the 1900 block of Kelsie Road in the
Cinnibar Valley in Nanaimo.
A WESTERN MEADOWLARK was heard and seen at the Beban Park Barns in Nanaimo.
THOUSANDS of SNOW GEESE, flying in a three to five kilometers long line,
were spotted above The Little Qualicum River Estuary in Qualicum Beach. A
few hundred of the SNOW GEESE stopped for about hour at the mouth of the
Little Qualicum River, before heading south.
Three TRUMPETER SWANS were seen feeding at the Nanoose Bay Estuary. A
COOPER'S HAWK was seen hunting along Broughton Place in Nanaimo.

Monday December 11:
HOUSE FINCH, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES, DARK-EYED
JUNCOS, a pair of DOWNY WOODPECKERS and ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS are coming to
feeders in the 2300 block of Bowen Road in Nanaimo.

Sunday December 10:
A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, was seen at the "Neck", of Neck Point Park. Two pair
of MARBLED MURRELETS and a WESTERN GREBE were seen offshore in with flock of
PACIFIC LOONS. The resident SPOTTED SANDPIPER was seen at his usual spot on
Sunshine Beack at Neck Point Park.

Friday December 08:
PIED BILLED GREBE, GREAT BLUE HERON, TRUMPTER SWAN, SURF SCOTER, BUFFLEHEAD,
COMMON GOLDENEYE, BARROWS GOLDENEYE, COMMON MERGANSER, RED-BREASTED
MERGANSER, SHARP SHINNED HAWK, BALD EAGLE, AMERICAN COOT, SHORT-EARED OWLS,
NORTHERN FLICKER, NORTHERN CROW, COMMON RAVEN, EUROPEAN STARLING, SONG
SPARROW, SPOTTED TOWHEE and DARK-EYED JUNCOS were seen at the Nanaimo River
Estuary in South Nanaimo

Tuesday December 05:
Two GYRFALCONS were seen perched and flying over the old Rutherford Golf
Course behind the Grand Hotel in Nanaimo.
Two ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS are visiting feeders along Drake Street in Nanaimo.

Monday December 04:
AN ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was spotted at feeders in the 500 block of Westview
Place in Nanaimo.
