Hello All,

Well the 34th Walla Walla CBC has come and with just a few days left of
count week, all but gone. The weather was cold ( 25-37 degrees) and clear
with winds 0-5 mph. There were 24 participants with folks coming from as far
away as Prosser, Kennewick, Richland and Ellensburg. This was a great group
of folks and their outstanding efforts and time are greatly appreciated. As
a result of these dedicated folks the following 33 year old records were
beat.........

Hooded Mergs................19 birds with previous high of 18 birds
Bald Eagle.......................3 birds with previous high of 2 birds
Great Horned Owl...........16 birds with previous high of 15 birds
Bewicks Wren..................63 birds with previous high of 44 birds
Black-capped Chickidee..252 birds with the previous high of 197 birds.
BAND-TAILED PIGEON..1bird-numbers way up! First for this CBC in 34 years.

The tally for this count is currently 74 species and 10,868 individuals.

Western Bluebird
Hermit Thrush
Orange-crowned Warbler
Red Crossbill
