Driving into Seattle this morning, I saw a Peregrine chasing a bird over
the 99 bridge (over Fremont). Focusing in on the scene, I was surprised
to see that the target bird appeared to be a Merlin. I've seen a Merlin
hunting from that same spot now and again, but I haven't seen her for
several months.

Just before the birds were out of view behind me, the Peregrine dove on
the Merlin - because of rush hour traffic, I didn't see the outcome.
