Early this afternoon myself, along with George, Eva Gerdts and Brad
Waggoner, enjoyed good looks at the B-h Gull off south Bainbridge Is. It was seen
in with a small flock of Bonaparte's Gulls just west of the fish pen main
dock, below old Fort Ward. Later, we got permission from the worker's there to
get closer looks for photography. We were able to see the bird both sitting and
a couple of brief periods of flight, very stunning!! They were very cordial
in letting us onto the end of the pier but I feel just a few people at a time
is all that they want out there because of forklifts, trucks, and other
activity. I emphasize, please get permission first. Again, many thanks to Brad for
locating and reporting this fine bird through the week!
Good luck! Doug Watkins
