What golf driving range? David and I were in the area for a quick trip late
this a.m. and could not find the Whooper. We did relocate the Emp Goose,
though, on Elliot smack in the middle of a couple hundred swans, in the
company of one WF Goose (there were a dozen other WFs in the back of the
flock as well.) To get to this site, go onto Broadway from hwy 9, turn left
on Connelly (sp), pass the golf course and the Bob Heirrman (sp) preserve
and turn left on Ellliot. The swans are in a field to the left before the
"Y." Parking is poor, but there are a couple of farm driveways that have
wide areas where you can pull off. We'll make another try for the Whooper
later, so keep posting please!! We did check along Marsh Rd twice at small
flocks on both sides. But if we didn't see a driving range, maybe we are
just bad!!! There were lots of birders out looking, though...
