Upon our return from the dog walk at Discovery Park today around 3:50pm, I
went to the front door to check the level of the bird feeder. It seemed
that a good portion of the squadron of sparrows was hiding on the front
porch, under chairs, a table and all through my rosemary bush. No one else
was to be seen, and then they all panicked and rushed up and started
scattering. Had me confused for a moment until out of nowhere swooped in a
grey flash - under the feeder, down, under and up out of the rosemary bush
and off to the left - talons empty more birds chirping and going all
different directions.

Yes folks, it looks like our Merlin is back in the neighborhood! And here I
thought it was just nifty that I saw a Downy Woodpecker by the North Field
lavatory of the park.
