Marvin Cooper and I were able to locate the Whooper Swan today at 11:30 after about a 2 hour search. The bird was seen about 3/4 mile south of Marsh Road on the west side of hwy 9. There's a small turnoff (for 2 cars only) across from McAuliffe's Valley Nursery. That would be the ideal place to park and then look in the field to the west..
The fog was pretty intense making it very difficult to ID the bird. We were able to collect the group of birders that were still waiting near the Ricci's farm and give them directions. Hopefully the group that was there earlier which included Mike Donahue, Jamie Acker and George Gerdts were able to get the information as well.
