Subject: [Tweeters] Whooper today

Thanks to all of those birders out there this afternoon for generously
sharing their directions and scopes. After coming up short on Marsh Road
and on Springhetti Road, I was pointed in the right direction and within 45
minutes had seen both the Whooper along Highway 9 and the Emperor Goose at
the Ricci Farm. An amazing 2 hour 'coffee break' from the office in dowtown
Seattle and the good fortune (thanks to the kindness of others) to see these
birds. Cheers,

>Tweeters,
>Marvin Cooper and I were able to locate the Whooper Swan today at 11:30
>after about a 2 hour search. The bird was seen about 3/4 mile south of
>Marsh Road on the west side of hwy 9. There's a small turnoff (for 2 cars
>only) across from McAuliffe's Valley Nursery. That would be the ideal place
>to park and then look in the field to the west..
>The fog was pretty intense making it very difficult to ID the bird. We were
>able to collect the group of birders that were still waiting near the
>Ricci's farm and give them directions. Hopefully the group that was there
>earlier which included Mike Donahue, Jamie Acker and George Gerdts were
>able to get the information as well.
>Good birding
