Arden & I got to the "fish farm dock" on Bainbridge Island (as described before) just after 9:00 AM on Thursday morning. We could see numerous gulls out on the far fish farm float and a few on the closer one. The fog lifted just before noon and the gulls began to get a little more active. Soon a few Bonaparte's gulls flew by the dock and then the BLACK-TAILED GULL flew into the right side the dock and would occassionally land in the water near the metal grid docks for good looks with binocs or scope and photos. At one point it flew side by side with a Bonaparte's for great comparison views. We watched it for about 45 minutes off and on as it flew in and then it took off so we did the same.

The men on the docks were very friendly and told it had been seen that morning by them on the farm floats and explained where they usually see it before it came in near us.

We also stopped by Point-no-point for a beautiful view of the area. The water was like glass and the birds were gorgeous but no Long-billed or Thick-billed were seen. Lots of other species were seen in good numbers.
