Ned,

Here is a generic less than 2 cents contribution. This comes from Eric
Mills who has headed up the Brier Island (Nova Scotia) Christmas bird
count since 1971.

"In general, I've found seawatching at Brier better on a flooding
tide". This is on the Bay of Fundy which has huge tides, not Point no
Point.
