Hello All,
This morning we joined Ginger Shoemake and hiked around a frozen Bennington
Lake under a pale cold winter sun. Birds of note were.........

N. Goshawk........1 sub-adult
Tundra Swan........1 sub-adult sitting out on the ice over the lake. It then
flew around over our heads calling several times. It is very unusual to have
a swan at this site during this season.
N. Shrike..............1 adult.
Sharp-shinned Hawk.......1 bird
Bewicks Wrens...............5 birds
and later up Mill Creek Rd. with Dr. Newbold we located a single adult N.
Pygmy-Owl which he has been searching for, for over fifty years. We had
great views in wonderful light.
Later Mike
