Subject: [Tweeters] Birding from a Highrise

Hi Tweets:

I work in a downtown Seattle high-rise, on the 13th floor. For the
most part, birding from the office is limited to pigeons, gulls, the
occasional Peregrine, and a couple of Septembers ago the big kettle
of Turkey Vultures migrating south. Well yesterday I was on a long
phone call so I turned toward the window and propped my feet up,
kicking back a bit to be comfortable during the call. I nearly fell
over backwards when a female Anna's buzzed the window. That was a
first for me in the high-rise canyon. Has anyone else seen a
hummingbird buzzing a high-rise? They're plucky little things,
that's for sure.
