Greetings all,

The only hinderence today was a little fog and a lot of miles!

I arrived at the fields on the west side of Highway 9 south of Marsh Road about 9:30 and began scoping the swan flock with one other birder. Then the fog rolled in. By 10:30 the fog had lifted and Bill (from Olympia) spotted the Whooper. We all got great looks.

So off I go to Semiahmoo. Once at the water's edge near the floats at the near end of the marina, it took at least two seconds to focus on the King Eider, who was sharing a log with a male Hareliquin. In all there were 10 species of ducks in the immediate area.

Home safe and sound back in Lakewood with two new lifers.
