As an addendum to Steve's post, the Pine Grosbeaks were found on Mounts Road
at the intersection with Easterday Road (at least, that's what it is called
on Google Maps). This spot is on the Pierce County side of the river. The
Mounts Road area was extremely birdy and I must make a return visit soon.

Also I feel noteworthy at the Cedar River mouth was a very unusual 2nd
winter Thayer's/Kumlien's Gull with frosty-white wings, but plain tertials
and large portions of the primaries dark brown. As with the 1st cycle bird,
this was not common variation observed in Thayer's Gull, but it also was not
a bird you could call Kumlien's here on the left coast.

And no, I was not pleased to see the Glaucland Gull back another year. ;-)
