Tweets,

We all enjoyed a fine day yesterday for the Seattle CBC. At the ritual tally last night it appeared we would come just over our long-term average of 120 (since 1972), but we had not yet heard from our Restoration Point team across the water on Bainbridge Island. When they reported in later that evening we were able to add five additional species, including Clark's Grebe, Virginia Rail, Rock Sandpiper,Ancient Murrelet, and Great Horned Owl. With the Red-naped Sapsucker reported by Bob and Becky Benton at North Seattle CC after our initial tally, we have a record-tieing 127 species for the day, a record set in 1978.

Other highlights include the Common Redpoll at Discovery Park that Scott Hoskins posted earlier today, Pine Grosbeaks in at least two areas, a Redhead in Kirkland, large numbers of Surfbirds on both sides of the sound, the Townsend's Solitaire reported earlier by Marv Breece on Queen Anne, a few of the elusive Red Crossbill, etc.

The final tally and commentary will be posted on the Seattle Audubon website in about 10 days.
