Hey tweets, just a quick note: there is a beautiful male EURASIAN WIGEON at
the Talaris pond right now. I think it must be the same one I saw on Union
Bay a couple of weeks ago. Talaris, by the way, is the new name of the
Battelle property, which is a couple blocks east of the Fill. I was driving
by there this morning and drove in, as I often do. That pond is a favorite
of wigeons, and there's been Eurasians there before.

If you can find the corner of NE 41st Street and 41st Avenue NE, Talaris is
there. You can drive in the east parking lot and look for the pond with the
spouting fountain. The Eurasian Wigeon was paddling around in it, along with
numerous American Wigeons. He looked spectacular with the sun (!) shining on
his head. - Connie, Seattle
