Today, the Wenatchee Audubon Society had a field trip to the Waterville
Plateau for winter birds. SNOWY OWLS were the highlight of the day, with 7
(seven) seen on Rd. F, between 10 and 12. All were on the ground, or
behind banks of plowed snow, staying down out of the wind, except for their
heads. Three participants counted them as life birds. A few Snow
Buntings were seen, as were 3 Rough-legged Hawks. In Okanogan Co. we
added Barn Owls and Long-eared Owls. Meredith Spencer
