For the 5th year, the partial albino RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD has returned to
the park for the breeding season. He?s staking out his same territory in
the cattails between the two boardwalks. A beautiful bird and I?m delighted
that he made it through another winter.

Mike West saw a RED-THROATED LOON in the bay on Sunday, and it is still in
the area today, along with the usual assortment of ducks (both SCAUP, COMMON
GOLDENEYE, CANVASBACK, COMMON MERGANSER, etc.) and grebes (PIED-BILLED,
HORNED and WESTERN).

The resident BALD EAGLE pair are courting, Song Sparrows, Bewick?s Wrens and
Robins are singing, and the sun is shining. It must be spring
or almost.
