Tuesday February 07: 2006
A large flock of at least twenty AMERICAN ROBINS were seen at the Winchelsea
View Golf Course between the sixteen and seventeen greens in upper
Lantzville.
Ten BLACK TURNSTONES were seen on the rocks at the end of the spit at
Piper's Lagoon.
One LESSER YELLOWLEGS was seen in the Lagoo near the parking lot at Piper's
Lagoon.

Monday Fedruary 06:
A GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 12 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS and two SURFBIRDS were seen
in with a flock of BLACK TURNSTONES at Piper's Lagoon.

Sunday February 05:
A SNOWY OWL and several WESTERN MEADOWLARKS were seen at the Nanaimo River
Estuary in south Nanaimo.
The Sunday Bird Walk went to the Englishman River Estuary, Plummer Road
side. Twenty-three birders found the following sixty-one species:

A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen sitting on a birdfeeder in a yard along Bowen
Road, across from Bowen Park in Nanaimo.
A SNOW GOOSE was seen in with a flock of CANADA GEESE along Quesnel Road in
Cedar.

FRIDAY JANUARY 27:
A PILEATED WOODPECKER was seen feeding on a old tree at Colliery Dam Park in
Nanaimo.

Wednesday February 01:
A VARIED THRUSH was seen visiting a backyard in the 30th block of 17th
Avenue in Port
Alberni.

Tuesday January 17:
A SNOWY OWL was spotted at the Nanaimo Airport in Cassiday.

Sunday January 15:
A NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was seen in Ladysmith.
