Those of you who make the trip out to the South Jetty of the
Columbia River from now into the foreseeable future will find
parking restrictions and earth moving equipment.

Michelle and I were out there today and saw truck after truck
hauling gravel to build a road bed from the parking lot at "C"
out to the river beach. There are also large culverts which
will presumably span the tide channel.

I have no additional information at this time regarding how
long the repair work will take or what condition the place
will be in after its done. I'm hoping the restore the dunes
and beach or even do some work to recover lost shorebird habitat.

I will post more information as I get hold of it.
