Subject: SNOWY
To all; I found 3 Snowys today. One on Chris Jannett's farm rake in the field south of Detour Rd. just west on Bennett Rd. One on top of the rock on top of the hill just north of Wagner Farm Rd. between Carstens and Waukon. I found the third one by going south on Omans Rd from Morrison Rd. past the grain elevators, turn left on the paved rd and go to the top of the high point. Set up your scope and search the fields to the north and east. It was sitting on a fence post about a half mile NE. To far to see with binos. All three are in Whitman Co. I also saw a Prairie falcon on Morrison near Omans and one at the first curve going south on Omans. It could have been the same one.
At 5:30, back in Spokane Co., Between 3:30 and 4:30 I found Tree Sparrows in the trees at the abandoned farm on Ladd Rd and also in and around the farm on Coulee Hite RD and McFarlane Rd.
I saw between 4 and 8 Short-eared Owls on Ladd Rd and McFarlane Rd. That's when they started hunting. It was getting quite dark.
