Dear Tweeters,

Yesterday I found a Northern Pygmy Owl in the
old-growth forest of Rockport State Park (Skagit
County). I did maybe one or two whistled toots to get
some chickadees and kinglets to move, and within half
a minute, the owl flew over and responded
vociferously. I don't recall ever seeing this species
in old-growth. It was very hard to get a view of it,
perched as it was atop the enormous Douglas firs.
