Subject: [Tweeters] Mt. Quail Calling

This morning when I stepped out to hose down the deck, getting rid of all
the bird detritus and droppings, I was surprised and pleased to hear my
local male Mountain Quail calling from just below the house. A couple times
he answered my call and he did not seem to be disturbed by the noise of my
cleaning the deck.
>From the sounds there was a pair of quail present. Besides the male's
territorial call there was an occassional scolding call, reminding me of an
old couple squabbling. I'm sure she was telling her mate to leave that
other calling male (me) alone and come along.....
I have not yet seen them at the feeding area and once they become regular
visitors again this spring I will post so anyone wanting to can get in touch
and come see the quail.
It was grand to hear the quail again after a long, quiet fall and winter.
