Carol - the gull showed up yesterday right off from the sailboat dock at the
north end of Coulon. As Charlie said, it didn't show up until 5:35 or 5:40;
a woman I was birding with had just given up and was 100 feet up the trail
back to her car when I saw THE BIRD. Luckily I was able to call her back.
We had less than 5 minutes before it was too dark to distinguish any
differences in mantle colors between gulls.
