Subject: [Tweeters] good birding near Ellensburg?

Well, I got my binocs back from being repaired --I meant to post a summary,
but it would have been VERY short. I got six recommendations, and they were
all for the same place: Close Scientific Instrument, down in Belltown. I
went there, he did a bang-up job, pointed out that the eye relief was rather
short on these glasses and suggested never using the eye cups (which I don't
anyway).

So ANYWAY.

We're thinking about renting a cabin for the weekend not this weekend but
the next (that is, the 24-26th of February) near Ellensburg, with the idea
of taking some hikes in the surrounding countryside. Where should we go to
do some good birding?

I should point out that thus far my life list lacks Prairie Falcons and
Ferruginous Hawks on it, so any tips for those are particularly welcome.

Best,
