Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday February 16. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On February 11 two LAPLAND LONGSPURS and one CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR were
seen among a HORNED LARK flock in central Benton County. The FALCATED DUCK
along Hwy 99W north of Eugene is still present. A full plumage adult male
TUFTED DUCK is now on Meares Lake west of Tillamook.

Three SNOWY OWLS at the South Jetty of the Columbia River, one at Yaquina
Bay, and at the Eugene Airport are still being seen. On February 14 one was
seen from the Nautilus Headquarters on 164th Street in east Vancouver, WA.

Noticeable migrations of TURKEY VULTURES, BAND-TAILED PIGEONS, SAY?S
PHOEBES, and SANDHILL CRANES were seen during the week. Large flocks of
ROBINS are now moving into the Willamette Valley.

On February 14 a TRUMPETER SWAN was on the south coast near Coquille. A
RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD was at Florence February 12. On February 9 a
YELLOW-BILLED LOON was at the South Jetty of the Columbia River.

An adult HARRIS?S SPARROW was at Walton Beach on the east side of Sauvie
Island February 14. On February 11 four BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were seen
again at the pond across the road from the Fernhill Wetlands Parking Lot. On
February 12 a bright male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD visited a flowering current
near Silverton. On February 9 a SWAINSON?S HAWK was photographed at Ankeny
NWR. The SWAINSON?S HAWK at Alvadore is still being seen. The Airlie
FERRUGINOUS HAWK is still along Sauerkraut Road. On February 14 a LEWIS?S
WOODPECKER was along Hwy 99W south of Corvallis.

Two EMPEROR GEESE were reported February 12 near Eugene, but were not
relocated. On February 11 two TOWNSENDS SOLITAIRES were in Eugene and one
was near Creswell.

On February 11 a bright male HARLEQUIN DUCK was at Eagle Creek near
Bonneville Dam. A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was in Bend February 9. On February
14 a LONG-TAILED DUCK was on the LaGrande Sewage Ponds.
