Ken Barron, who has for many years been a multifaceted
volunteer at Audubon Society of Portland (ASOP),
unexpectedly passed away Sunday February 12, 2006.
Over the years Ken was a trooper no matter where he
turned his talents:
Raising thousands of dollars for ASOP in annual
Birdathons;
Working tirelessly as computer hardware and
software guru;
Pitching in with enthusiasm during annual Wild
Arts Festivals;
Helping the Education Department with many
programs;
Spending days and nights assisting in the
Peregrine Program;
Educating the public about raptors, especially Syd
the Dark phase
Red-tailed Hawk.
Everything I ever saw Ken lend a hand on, was done
with a smile and enthusiasm, as well as a great deal
of knowledge and experience. He always had heart, and
was quite ready and willing to share his talents in a
teaching manner with all who needed him.
A memorial for Ken Barron will be held at Audubon
Society of Portland, in Heron Hall on Saturday March
4, 2006 at 2pm.
So long Friend
Know that you will be missed
Rest assured that you will long be remembered
ASOP was blessed to have you as a friend
