I am an 8th grade science teacher in Friday Harbor and this week I had 84 students doing bird surveys on the island on Feb 16th. I don't know if you have erased it from memory, but it was an incredibly windy and cold day (at Cattle Point it was blowing a steady 38 knots and was 35 degrees) and the kids still had a blast and they were thrilled with their findings. I am currently crunching all of their data and I will post it as soon as I have it. Just a peek: One group found the Northern Shrike at American Camp...they were the envy of the rest of the groups! This is our fifth year and we are still going strong. Data will be coming soon!
