The following interesting birds have been reported in Spokane County
during the past week:

The best bird was a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE found Feb 19 by the
Woodruffs on northern West Medical Lake Feb 19. It was not seen on Feb 21,
but could still be in the area.

3 BLUE JAYS continue to come to feeders at 7th & Smith. They were also
seen farther west at 7th & Stone. For best results be there at 8:00 am &
be prepared to wait a couple hours.
There is a new report of 3 BLUE JAYS in NE Medical Lake on Feb 13. Photo
provided.

The wintering concentration of SHORT-EARED OWLS now has a high count of 18
on Feb 19 at Coulee-Hite and Thorpe Roads, south of HWY 2 in extreme west
Spokane Co. This area has the only SE Owl reports for the county this
winter.

7 TUNDRA SWANS flew over the West Plains Feb 21 for the second report of the
year.

AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS continue to be seen south of Hwy 2 near the
intersection of McFarlane Rd and Coulee-Hite Rd. 4 were seen Feb 19.

GOLDEN EAGLES are evidently migrating north now. One was over the West
Plains Feb 18. Another was near Cheney Feb 19.

A TOWNSEND'S SOLITARE was in a Spokane Valley yard Feb 22 for a fairly rare
wintering bird.

A PRAIRIE FALCON was in extreme southern part of the county on Belsby Rd Feb
18. There are few reports so far in 2006 vs being regular in late 2005.

The group Spokane year list is 110 with the WF Goose being the only
addition.
Good Birding,
CraigCorder I did not see all these birds.
