Hello, All.

Subscribed a bit ago to tune up for a vacation in the
Seattle area in mid-March.

Anyone know of any realistic sightings for wintering
birds at that time of year?

Being a Florida Boy, I know there a a lot of birds
that will be new to me so any info is helpful. I have
been that way a couple times over the last 15 years
but really wasn't paying attention to birds then.

Steller's Jay was an indelible image, however. As was
the numerous Clark's Nutcrackers in Oregon.

Feel free to email me off-list with any helpful hints.
I know I want to get to Dungoness and Whidbey but I
still have a week to fill.

I would really like to get a good look a Harlequin
Ducks, any Auks, Eiders and other ducks, owls,
woodpeckers...just about anything that is more of a
Western specialty.

BTW, I am enjoying the excitement of your Blue Jay
sightings there. Nice to see some interest in a bird
we take for granted around here. Only about 40 in my
neighborhood this morning. :-)

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I band birds here when I can. Any banding sites
to visit in the Seattle area?
