Very well put Bryan. And I agree totally. You could have a
job in the diplomatic service.

Jason,

Perhaps you are trying to get peoples goat to spur
conversation or open peoples minds up to thinking and seeing
passed what is right in front of them. If that is the case
then I smirk when I read your e-mails.

If that is not the case then you are truly missing the
bigger picture. To disagree is fine, nobody will ever see
eye to eye on every issue. But to truly get the "tide to
change" so to speak we must all work towards a common goal.
Is that goal habitat conservation and restoration or is that
goal here removing feeders? You have oscilated back and
forth on that and I am not clear on what you think the
answer truly is.

The goal here needs to be a massive shift in the thought
process of how humans treat this planet. We consume and
drill and dump first. We occasionally learn a few lessons
but only if it doesn't get in the way of progress. To truly
get a shift in this thought process we need people to work
together. Making statements like you are burying your heads
in the sand will only turn the tide against whatever your
statements are....and I truly think you have some very good
points here. You may not care if I agree with you or not
and I am not trying to start an argument. I just think we
should try and stick to facts and ideas here.

Your commenst early on about long term impacts of
feeding (seed and nectar feeders) is a very valid statement.
I thought the information that Cady Wilson (spelling?) was a
very interesting observation from her yard. Perhaps more
people should observe their yards here and report in as
these birds will begin to migrate through very soon. We
have the power of many on this site and with the technology
of the internet we can all collect and share this data
together to see if there are any impacts on the Rufous.
Together.
