Bird Survey Volunteers Needed! Seeking volunteers to survey birds in shoreline forest habitats around Puget Sound (including Vashon Island) for a project conducted by King County Dept of Natural Resources and Parks and by Wildlife Biologists Sherry Hudson and Don Norman. Volunteer activities include bird surveys, data entry, and/or public education opportunities. Desired: people with experience identifying songbirds by sight and sound; however, all levels of experience are welcome. Required: Must be interested in learning bird identification skills, be relatively fit, and able to walk through thick underbrush and on uneven (sometimes steep) ground. Commitment: Must be able to commit to 1 -2 survey days per month for at least three consecutive months during any period of the study (April 2006 ? March 2007).
