Birded the skagit and samish flats yesterday 2/25. Of note was a large
female Merlin at the intersection of Samish Island road and Scott rd. Single
Peregrine Falcons were seen at the Snow Goose reserve and at the Fir Isalnd
Game Range HQ. At the end of the day, about 4:15 I walked out the dike at
the HQ to find Snowy Owls. I managed to find 2 birds sitting on driftwood.
On the way out the dike a single BARN SWALLOW was flying overhead. With the
date hard to tell if a wintering bird or an early migrant.
