The Seattle Audubon hosted a field Trip Feb 25, 06.

Our trip leader was Sam Woods. We started at 8:00 and finished around 11:30, the day was cloudy but dry. With temps in the high 30's to low 40's.

Seward Park is approximately 300 acres in the middle of Seattle, Lake Washington borders the park on every side. If you are interested in checking our Seward Park for yourself take a look at the Friends for Seward Park's website:

A highlight for me was the parks Mitred Conures, we saw five fly in to the top one of the huge fir trees. We had a nice view of two Conures mutually preening each other for a few minutes. That was all interrupted when a Bald Eagle came cruising over the canopy heading for its nest.

The Bald Eagles were busy all morning renovating the nest from last year, located in the Heritage tree.

We had good numbers of forest birds, though the lake shore was sparse of a few species usually seen.

Here is a list of all the birds we saw in order of appearance, for a total of 44 counting the rooster.
