Here's a question:

Would it be OK if I took up stealing candy from children as a hobby?

After all, stealing is natural (one sees animals stealing from each other
all the time, and I'm an animal, right?). Furthermore I derive great
enjoyment from eating candy. And when one looks at the big picture, my
stealing candy from a few kids isn't going to cause the universe to implode.

Sure, stealing from a kid might traumatize him or her. Maybe it would even
cause that kid to grow up to become a thief too. But I don't know that for
certain. Every kid is different. So, why worry about it?

Yes, there are other ways of obtaining candy. I could walk to the store and
buy some. Indeed, I already do that from time to time. But the candy I get
at the store isn't enough for me. I want to steal too.

What to do?
