Biringer Farm is not public property but I thought yesterday's visit might
be of interest out in Tweeterland anyway. The farm is prominent on the
right-hand side of I-5 just before you come to the first Marysville exit.
The site may well require its own party on the Everett CBC:

BIRINGER FARM HIGHLIGHTS 8-11 am 2/26 (52 species)

Rough-legged Hawk 1
Wilson's Snipe 6
MDove 1
SELASPHORUS, sp. 1 (in blooming trees next to main bldgs, flew off before
i.d. possible)
YR Warbler 2
Spotted Towhee--high concentrations in brambles along dike, field edges
6-7 sparrow sp. including
---possible SPIZELLA, sp. at edge of tree farm grove--will go back to
attempt relocation--light-colored/dingy brownish bird w/longish tail, about
Lincoln's length but unstreaked breast; stayed low at first in
grassy-brambly growth but then alit momentarily atop 10' fir at edge of
weedy field, but shot away into deep cover before I could get the binocs on
it. Thought female yellowthroat at first, but tail seemingly too long and
behavior seemed sparrow-like
--high count of Fox Sparrows including a distinctive pale northern form
Sooty with gray face, rusty tail and wings, some warm brown tones in breast
spotting;
--1 Savannah Sparrow near entrance (missed on CBC), and approx. 175 Song
Sparrows, 14 Lincoln's Sparrows

W. Meadowlark 20

This all without covering the s.w. corner near I-5. Coyote droppings: more
on the dike loop than I have ever seen anywhere--must be a family group or
two out there.
