I was standing around the Lord Hill Parking lot after we finished our hike
and one of the students asked me what a Robin avian predator alarm call
sounded like. No sooner was the question asked than a Robin began giving
one, several birds scrammed for the shrubbery and coopers hawk danced
through the trees right over our heads then passed out of view to the east.
The student got a huge grin then asked, what do cougars look like when they
walk through a parking lot? Alas, no cougar materialized.
