A few months ago I was riding the British Columbia Ferry System and
there was a set of purple marten nests at the ferry dock on, I believe,
Mayne Island.Mayne Island is in the Gulf Islands area off the coast of
Vancouver Island. I was curious at the time since, where I grew up in
the Adirondack Mountains, Purple Martens were a terrible pest, but time
and geography change everything. I did not see any birds there at the
time.
