I counted the shoreline from Southworth to Yukon Harbor to Colby (Kitsap Co)
on 1 Jan. The usual water birds were there plus black turnstones (54),
surfbird (1), sanderling (110), and dunlin (12) with easy view from the car.
They were roosting on a raft offshore then flying around. The best view
was from road side where they were bathing in the outflow of Curley Creek at
Yukon Harbor. Check the tide charts they were there on the incoming but
were roosting offshore at high tide.
