Hello All,
MerryLynn and I joined Ginger and Rodger Shoemake on an owling expedition
this morning under clear skies.
Our first owl was.........

Snowy Owl..........1 sub-adult at Forest and Frog Hollow Rds west of College
Place, Walla Walla Co..
Barn Owls........12 birds along Short Rd., Walla Walla Co..
Great Horned Owls....3 birds along Short Rd., Walla Walla Co.
Barred Owl......1 ad. in Two Rivers Co. Park, south of Finley, Benton Co.
Long-eared Owl.....5 birds west of Kennewick, Benton Co., sorry, on private
land.
For a total of 22 owls of five species.
By 1:50 PM it started raining through the fog hanging along the Columbia
River over the Tri-Cities.

Other species of note were........

Greater White-fronted Geese.....4 birds at the Fishing pond in Columbia
Park, Kennewick.
Northern Shrike.....1 ad. along McDole Rd. west of Touchet.
Buteos.......100+ south and west of Touchet

That is it, great birds, great company and a spectacular sunny morning in
Walla Walla Co..
